Rhys Thomas

Rhys Thomas joins the staff at The Futbol Factory, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience.

Playing soccer from a very young age, Rhys was involved in local academy Histon FC (England) set up from the age of 12-18. In pursuit of playing collegiate soccer while obtaining a college degree, Rhys made the decision to move to the US. He quickly made and impact at St Charles Community College, becoming the team captain in his sophomore season while earning 1st Team All-Conference and All-Region awards. He then transferred to Carolina University where he was a 3-year captain, being being honored with All-Regional recognition twice, and All-American recognition in his senior year.

Upon graduating, Rhys was offered an Assistant Coach position at his alma mater and has seen success on the sidelines in all 3 of his coaching seasons. With 3 NCCAA National Championship appearances, a #5 ranking in the end of season NCCAA poll and a 15-2-3 record breaking season, Rhys continues to add to his budding coaching resume.

Rhys also coaches at local soccer club, NC Triad Rush and has 4+ years of 1on1/Small Group coaching experience.

A native of Cambridge, England, Rhys is also a big Southampton FC fan.
